Fajah Lourens was born in Amsterdam, this Dutch-Antilliean had dreams of becoming an actress since she was 7 years old. She made her dreams reality at the age of 20. After a successful acting career, Fajah decided to start making music.
Her brother Arjuna Schiks, who already was a successful producer at the time, showed her the ins and outs of the trade. It didn’t take long before tracks were being released on Gregor Salto’s, Kryder’s and Showtek’s labels and soon Fajah was receiving major support from International DJ’s.
At the moment, Fajah is one of the most booked female DJ’s within the Benelux. After two big releases on SKINK with the track Rock the house and Sosumi with Hold me close she Recently made the switch to a more eclectic sound which resulted in her first Urban track “Squat” which is released on Sony Music.
In the meantime, this track has already accumulated over 6.000.000 Spotify and 2.500.000 YouTube streams and has even been awarded with a Golden Record. Faya says she doesn’t want to make music with one specific type of sound, she is passionate about music and feels what the crowd wants. Faya: “I just want to make music and see the crowd having a good time”.
Besides her acting and musical career, Faya became finalist in the Dutch survival reality TV show “Expeditie Robinson”. More recently she also started the online platform “MyKillerBodyMotivation” and wrote the book “The Killerbody Diet” which entered the bestseller list at number one for 9 weeks in the Netherlands.
